Expanded Content Provides Extra Value at Each
Stage of Business Development
Washington, D.C.SCORE Counselors
to Americas Small Business announces a fresh, new
look for the SCORE Small Business Web Site, www.score.org, designed
to be more visually appealing and easier for clients and visitors
to use. New How-To and Business Tools sections offer valuable
guides, templates and resources to help small business owners
achieve success.
Through focus groups with SCORE small business
owners, SCORE found that entrepreneurs wanted more information
on starting, financing, managing and growing a business. SCORE
re-organized online content around each of those themes. How-To
articles provide tips and advice on a variety of topics, including
business plans, venture capital, customer relations and increasing
sales. Business Tools links offer access to SCORE online workshops,
template gallery, business quizzes, public relations toolkit and
other free resources.
As part of the Web site makeover, SCORE refined
navigation features and added a site map to make getting around
easier. A new Ask SCORE box on the home page gives quick access
to SCOREs free and confidential online counseling. Each
page now includes a ZIP code finder to find a local SCORE office.
New photos added to each page support SCOREs awareness campaign
theme, Live Your Dream. SCORE Can Help.
SCORE CEO Ken Yancey says, Aspiring entrepreneurs
and business owners told SCORE they want immediate access to a
one-stop resource that helps small businesses succeed. Yancey
adds, SCOREs Web site provides 24/7 Ask SCORE online
business advice and a wide range of information and useful tools
for both start-up and growing businesses.
Last year, more than 1.3 million people visited
the SCORE Web Site, up from 405,000 people in the year 2000. The
SCORE Web site has received several awards since its original
launch in 1997. Recently, SCORE won a 2006 APEX Award of Excellence
in the Web site category. The American Library Association honors
the SCORE Web site as one of the Best of the Best Business
Web Sites. Choice Magazine says the SCORE Web site is highly
recommended for all library collections and academic research.
