SBA Office of Advocacy - Self-Employment: A Career View
New
study finds early exposure to self employment raises the chance of self employment
in later career.
WASHINGTON,
D.C. -A study released today by the Office of Advocacy showed that early exposure
to self-employment increases individuals' engagement in self-employment during
their early-and mid-career years. The study also found that younger subgroup has
much higher self-employment rates than an older subgroup when the two are compared
by age 23. This increase is driven by recent increases in Black and Hispanic self-employment,
and to a lesser extent by female self-employment.

3. How
the Government Buys
Unlike
private sector buyers, the Federal Government has an extraordinarily transparent
purchasing system. All of the rules and regulations are clear to everyone from
the beginning.
FAR
When
any Federal agency buys products or services, it must apply standardized procedures
that conform to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). The FAR is a set of
regulations that establish procedures for every step in the procurement process,
from the time someone in the government discovers a need for a product or service
to the time the purchase is complete.

4. NBA Benefit Provider - Teladoc
Introducing
the Future of Affordable Medical Benefits TelaDoc SERVICE
TelaDoc
is a national network of board certified physicians providing cross coverage consultations
via the telephone 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. TelaDoc physicians use the
members personal medical record and telephone consultations to diagnose,
recommend treatment, and write short term prescriptions, when appropriate. TelaDoc
does not replace the relationship with the primary care physician, but instead
enhances it with greater physician availability and an efficient, cost-effective
alternative for minor medical problems. You can access this service wherever you
happen to be: your home, office, hotel room, or vacation campsite. Simply logon
to your TelaDoc account or make a phone call to our 800 number and, in most cases,
speak to a doctor in less than 30 minutes.
