THE INSTITUTE FOR ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT OF WOMEN – IEEW

The Institute for Economic Empowerment of Women is a 501(c) 3 non-profit with a mission to empower women to grow their business, pursue greater entrepreneurial ventures and become more active public policy advocates. The Institute accomplishes this mission by focusing on education and mentoring women in the United States and abroad who are seeking to acquire entrepreneurial skills to help start and grow a business. IEEW works
with a network of mentors, corporate sponsors, and private donors across the United States to accomplish its work.

National Business Association is a proud Sponsor and Partner of the IEEW’s PEACE THROUGH BUSINESS program. Peace Through Business provides long-term business

training to women business owners in developing and war-torn countries. IEEW believes when you educate a woman, you educate a nation. It is widely recognized that an economically sound country has a much greater capacity for peace. As these women build their businesses, they also help to strengthen their countries.

Peace Through Business Summits & Workshops are held at the AT&T University with recent Graduation Ceremonies held at the George W. Bush Presidential Center.

NBA Board Member Dr. Martin Walsh participates as Speaker / Panelist.

During the Summit the National Business Association, with the cooperation of IEEW, awards scholarships to defray the cost of the program to the top two outstanding women chosen by a panel from the IEEW’s Board. This program is precisely the activity the NBA supports. It provides leadership development and business skills to women entrepreneurs.

Dr. Terry Neese, a former Member of the National Business Association’s Board of Directors, founded the Peace Through Business program over 10 years ago. Since then Peace Through Business has had over 877 women entrepreneurs graduate from the program. Over 80 percent of the women are still in business creating over 16,000 jobs.
