Information Collection and Use
We collect “Non-Personal Information” and “Personal Information.” Non-Personal Information includes information that cannot be used to personally identify you, such as anonymous usage data, general demographic information, referring/exit pages and URLs, platform types, preferences you submit and preferences that are generated based on the data you submit and number of clicks you make. Personal Information includes your name, email, phone, address, payment information, membership profile information, which you submit to us through the registration process on the website.
In an effort to improve the quality of our service, we track information provided to us by your browser or by our software application when you view or use the website, this includes the website you came from (known as the “referring URL”), the type of browser you use, the device from which you connected to the website, the time and date of access, and other information that does not personally identify you.
We may track information using cookies, or small text files that include an anonymous unique identifier. The cookies are correlated to the user but are not linked to any personal information. Cookies are sent to a user’s browser from our servers and are stored within the user’s computer. Sending a cookie to a user’s computer enables us to collect non-personal information about that user and keep a record of the user’s preferences when utilizing our website, both on an individual and aggregated basis.
Disclosure of Personal Information
Personal information is collected by the National Business Association (NBA) only when you register for a product, service, ongoing communication or register as a member of the NBA. The NBA may disclose personally identifiable information about you to third parties to facilitate a transaction or in communication with a third party that you have initiated. These third parties include selected NBA member benefit providers from whom you have requested products or services. We may provide data to the providers of professional products or services to the company; and/or to our agents or advisors such as accountants and attorneys, only to the degree necessary for them to provide services to you or us. Personally identifiable information may also be released as permitted or required by law.
Collection of data from children
This website is not intended for use by children under age 13. The NBA will not knowingly collect or post information for or about children under age 13. In the event that we learn we have collected any personal information from anyone 13 or younger we will delete the information as soon as possible.
Security of Your Personal Information
The National Business Association takes precautions to protect your personal information.
We use industry standard encryption when transferring and receiving personal data. When we receive and transfer sensitive information, we redirect visitors to a secure server. This server is used to store information securely. When you enter sensitive information such as credit card number, the information is encrypted in compliance with industry standards.
Third Party Web Sites
Rights to Opt-Out
Visitors may opt-out of having their personal information used by The NBA by emailing email@example.com. When we email promotional communications to a user, the user may opt out of further promotional communications by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in the email.
